Hand forged W2 petty with a nice simple hamon line. A hamon is a shadowy line denoting the point where the steel goes from hardened on the edge to softened on the spine- the line is created by applying clay to the face of the blade during quench to insulate the spine so it stays soft while the edge is rapidly hardened in the quench oil.
Paired with a timeless buffalo horn ferrule and stabilized curly Ho wood (Japanese Magnolia) this blade is ready to get to work! Laser thin geometry perfect for effortless and paper thin slices.
