Rainbow quenching is a method of quenching the blade that leaves a hard cutting edge and soft spine, the change in molecular structure is visible after polishing and etching the steel leaving the lines you see toward the top of the blade.

This blade features a distal taper from handle to tip allowing for a robust feeling blade that has a fine tip for detail work. Paired with a stunning double dyed and stabilized maple burl handle and African blackwood bolster.
